How to Dress Like You're Rich in China?

1. Carry a designer bag (real or fake) with a super huge brand logo printed on it

2. Join the long queues in front of Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel etc. so that everyone on the street will know that you're about to go shopping inside

3. Don't change the default ringtone for your iPhone 4, set the ringing volume to the maximum

4. Wear only gold jewellery, don't wear silver

5. Talk loudly on your phone, saying "Yeah I just bought three Hermès Birkin bags, they're such a bargain!"

6. Carry a Burberry umbrella (in its classic checked print) whenever there is sun to protect your skin from getting dark, forget about the suncream

7. Put at least 5 different colours in your outfit

8. If you're carrying a clutch, put it under your armpit and make sure people on the street can see that a stack of 100-RMB notes is spilling off from your clutch

It happens in HK as well, but HK people (wrongly) think they have class, while wearing, say, dark dress and golden shoes, haha

It happens to a lot of nations, in different ways.

It's funny that you say to only wear gold and not silver to look rich in China! In America it's the opposite because if you're really rich you wear platinum, which is silver-colored.

@Amy: I agree with the situation in America. In China, it's just historically gold is a symbol of prestige so that's why :)
